ACSES

Armenian Center for Socio-Economic Studies

ACSES (Armenian Center for Socio-Economic Studies) is an independent think tank with a mission to improve public policymaking through socio-economic research and analysis.

ACSES conducts research, analysis on the current socio-economic developments of Armenia, as well as prepares policy briefs that address pressing issues of the country and presents them to public bodies.

ACSES was founded in 2020.

Haykaz Fanyan

Director

Haykaz Fanyan is an economist with more than 10 years of experience, from which eight in economic analysis, public policymaking, research, and management consulting. He has rich experience working with donor agencies, was involved in a number of projects financed/implemented by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Austrian Development Agency, GIZ, USAID, Save the Children, has worked closely with state bodies. Mr. Fanyan is also CEO at consulting company Modex and a founding board member of the “Export Armenia” Association of Export Professionals.

Armine Petrosyan

Senior Research Associate

Armine Petrosyan is an economist with nearly eight years of experience in the public sectors of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia. In 2017, she graduated from the University College London (UCL) with an MA degree in Comparative Economics and Policy. During her work experience in the public sectors of Artsakh and Armenia, she worked extensively on drafting legislation, assessment of legal acts, as well as on analysis of various socio-economic issues of the two countries. From 2018 to 2020 she worked at the Security Council office of Armenia, including as a head of the Socio-economic Policy Division.

Research Associate

Meline Abrahamyan is an economist with master's degree and more than four years of experience in the public administration and economic research. During her work experience in the public sector of Armenia, she worked on coordination of public investment projects, drafting and development of related legal acts. From 2020 to 2021 she worked as an Economic Analyst at "Hamakarg" Economic Center, then worked at the Ministry of Territorial Development and Infrastructure of Armenia until 2023․

Ruben Osipyan

Mr. Osipyan is an economist, he is an active advocate for the interests of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and is involved in a number of public-private dialogue platforms. He is president at the SME Cooperation Association, ex officio secretary of the SME Working Group for Cooperation functioning adjunct to the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, co-founder & CEO at Himnark CJSC, as well as a lecturer at the American University of Armenia.

Mr. Madoyan holds a Ph.D. in Economics, he is Chair of the BS in Data Science Program at the American University of Armenia, as well as co-founder and CEO at Datamotus LLC.

Evgenya Bazinyan

Evgenya Bazinyan

Ms. Bazinyan holds a Ph.D. in Economics, she is Associate Professor, since 2004 teaches at the Armenian State University of Economics, and is a member of the expert board of Amberd research center.
